After spending some years working at Waikato Uni, working in Parliament and spending time at the Waitangi Tribunal, I met many people who wanted to keep in the loop of Maori information and news, so started TangataWhenua.com.

We are a small media and communications company committed to exchanging information amongst the Maori community, locally and abroad. We have over 6500 subscribers and have created a solid network for Maori news and indigenous views.

We attracted international attention recently by developing Google Maori, an essential language tool that is used by thousands throughout the country to help search in te reo Maori. The second stage of that project is about to resume shortly.

We specialise in creating dynamic links within the Maori community and assist with developing Communication Strategies, especially online and digital comms.

At the moment, we are working on web development projects, have been asked to help with iwi and land trusts and are researching cell tech, which is exciting.

Based in Rotorua, we are able to help your organisation understand the unique dynamics within Maori business by connecting with key leaders, by providing the bridge between groups and by working on solutions to communication issues you might face.
