Postnatal Distress Centre

Susan is a qualified and experienced registered psychotherapist in private practice in Auckland. As well as working with general issues of depression, anxiety, trauma and relationships for adult individuals and couples she specialises in counselling and treating men and women who are struggling with postnatal distress - this includes antenatal and postnatal depression, anxiety, distress and birth trauma. Difficulties adjusting to parenthood is a specialty. I am able to home visit those new mums and dads who find it difficult to leave the house in those first few months in the Auckland city area. I have spoken at several conferences raising awareness of the importance of early detection of postnatal distress because of the huge impact it has inter-generationally on families.
