Southern Lights Biomaterials is a New Zealand-based biomaterials company.

SLB supplies medical device manufacturers worldwide with BSE-free animal tissue products, sourced from Category 1 countries - New Zealand and Australia.

SLB is a team of New Zealand and US scientists and businessmen, delivering customer requirements to international industry standards.

SLB has two core business areas -

1.

Sourcing and delivering pharmaceutical-grade BSE/TSE-free bovine tissue. Current products include hide, tendon, bone material and pericardium.
2.

Contract Manufacturing and CoDevelopment of bovine collagen-based tissue-engineered biomaterials

SLB provides customers with tissue materials or formulations to customer requirements and international medical device regulator standards.

QUALITY STATEMENT

SLB ensures compliance with key time and temperature parameters to minimize biodegradation. Accredited shippers are utilized ensuring the product reaches its destination safely within your time and temperature protocol.

SLB's tissue cross-linking and collagen manufacturing facility is optimally located allowing processing shortly after tissue harvest. Currently customers are served with cross-linking time protocols ranging from 12 to 36 hours post-harvest.

Collection and processing controls ensure client compliance with ISO 13485 and EDQM. SLB can provide Certificates of Compliance in accordance with ISO 22442-2.
