Our Idea

SmoothStream idea is arts participation, especially music, to promote positive mental health.

The SmoothStream Band was founded by Dr. Ronald Ma in 2005. He took multiple roles as Band Leader, Music Director, Project Leader and Researcher to have a solid, strong and committed leadership in the beginning of the project. Now the band is a legal entity, financially sound, skilful community music band led by younger generations. He is preparing to transfer this world community band to the next generations to promote mental health in future.

Dr. Ronald Ma is doing his doctoral degree with the University of Auckland based on the SmoothStream Model or Musically-driven Mental Health Promotion.
