Scooters are a great choice for transport, especially for cheap commuting and riding from point to point. Scooters use much less fuel than a car and you can park them for free. 50cc scooters do not require WOF, and registration is less than NZ$70 a year. Fuel prices are going up, parking costs are going up, it is time to move. New registrations of 50cc and big scooters in New Zealand are doubling annually. Luckily in New Zealand you can ride a moped-class scooter on a car license - even a Learner's license is OK.
