Released in early 2005 and representing the very latest in modern anchor design, the Rocna is a New Zealand developed "new generation" marine anchor. Its features include instant setting and superior holding power on most seabeds. The design is intended to address the issues that plague more traditional types, such as poor setting reliability and lack of roll-stability.
With superior setting and holding, the Rocna anchor is becoming recognized as any vessel’s ideal anchoring solution – in a recent international poll, cruisers worldwide voted the Rocna the type most desirable as a primary anchor for a circumnavigation. A Rocna claimed the #1 result in SAIL and Yachting Monthly comparison testing in 2006. Copied quickly by local manufacturers, Rocna offers the uncompromised reliability and quality assurance of the genuine item.
A classic example of original NZ design, the Rocna comes in sizes 4 kg to 275 kg, in both galvanized and stainless steel options. Detailed information is available at Rocna.com.

The Rocna was developed in New Zealand originally for NZ's tough conditions, and tested thoroughly in a circumnavigation of the entire country including Stewart Island. The Rocna's designer, Peter Smith, is the original NZ cruiser who founded successful New Zealand production boat-building firm Cavalier Yachts in the 1960s. His new anchor design is being distributed globally, putting another NZ product as #1 in the world.
