Established in 1991, Parkside Media now publishes over 60 magazine issues per year; runs four major nationwide events – Super Lap, NZ Drift Series, Import All-Stars and the NZ Bikini Model Search – and is the sponsor of many others; has more than 50,000 members registered to the NZ Performance Car Mobile Text Club; runs eight core websites with five sub-sites; and produces its own Performance Car TV and NZV8 TV television programs.

Parkside Media fulltime employees comprise a dedicated web team as well as editorial, sales, production, TV and photography teams.

With the launch in 1991 of New Zealand Classic Car magazine, Parkside Media quickly established itself as one of this country’s most dynamic and innovative magazine publishers. Parkside’s aim is to always create media to a world-class-standard and prides itself on producing accurate, insightful, entertaining magazines and websites with very high production values.

From humble beginnings with no fulltime staff, producing magazines from a garden shed in Auckland’s inner city suburb of Grey Lynn, Parkside now boasts a staff of over thirty-five fulltime employees and is one of New Zealand’s largest independent magazine publishers. Parkside is still based in Grey Lynn, Auckland but now has its business based in a 12,000 sq ft building on Richmond Road.

What makes us Made From New Zealand?

Parkside Media produces category-leading magazines in the automotive and technology sectors such as NZ Performance Car, NZ Classic Car, NZV8, Tone and D-Photo. Through our involvement with motorsport events such as V8 racing, NZ Drift Series, Super Lap, Intermarque Concours and more, we support the communities of enthusiasts and experts that make the scene so dynamic.

Parkside Media is a media conglomerate. Where most publishers just produce magazines, Parkside Media explores many different media channels. Its TV series, Performance Car TV, is in its eighth season and receives airplay on TV1, TV2 and Sky Sports (the only such series to do so). It rates consistently highly with the networks.

Parkside Media's websites are its global face and promote content licensing and merchandise sales, and have received significant investment to prepare for the downtown in traditional paper-based publishing. In 2006 we embraced Web 2.0 and built rich media sites well ahead of any other New Zealand publisher which enabled our community to establish an account on the site and start a blog, upload video, and contribute to the sites.

We have recently established an online games division - a first for a New Zealand magazine publisher - to expand the brand message and to provide broader advertising and sponsorship opportunities for our clients.
