Ice Angels
The unique experience of operating The ICEHOUSE led us to identify a considerable yet unmet need in the NZ equity market -funding for start up companies. The ICE Angels are a network of private angel investors brought together by The ICEHOUSE to facilitate investment in early stage companies, providing structure to the deal revision process and benefiting from scale economies in sourcing deal flow. Helping over 30 start up companies via incubation at The ICEHOUSE and over 130 emerging exporters via our 321 Go Global programme enabled us to identify a key gap in the NZ capital markets: funding for early stage high growth companies. In seeking to fill that gap, The ICEHOUSE facilitated the creation of The ICE Angels, in December 2003, as a stand-alone association of private angel investors. The ICE Angels brings together 50 foundation members and a constant stream of quality deal flow to facilitate investment in high growth start up companies.
