Fabri-cell

Fabri-Cell International Ltd was established in New Zealand in 1973 with the purpose of designing, developing and manufacturing a wide range of limited life products for medical and industrial use. Within a year Fabri-Cell introduced the Med-X single use sterile and non sterile examination gloves which was an immediate success within New Zealand’s medical fraternity. Such was the success of the Med-X range that the company was soon exporting to Australia and South East Asia. Today, Med-X is still one of the most respected brands in the industry.

Manufacturing growth...
In 1977 a laminating machine was built to process combinations of various substrates of non woven materials without binders. This led to the development of a range of multi purpose medical dressings as well as products for the food processing and fruit packaging industries. To meet regulatory requirements, a dedicated hygiene area was introduced for the manufacturing of products for the food industry. In addition a medical clean room was created to facilitate the manufacture and packaging of medical products. A specialised garment manufacturing operation was then introduced which now produces a wide range of protective apparel to meet the needs of market segments including medical, industrial, food service, horticultural and agricultural.
