From its beginning, Elite Imports has been passionate about music. What started as a family enterprise has developed into a name synonymous with music of excellent quality.

Identifying a void in the marketplace, David Cole (founder), an ardent believer in the local music store operated by music enthusiasts, set about probing the globe for distinctive music.

Today ELITE’s mandate is the same as we continue to source product internationally and locally, whether by way of our exclusive long-term international music partners or indented via key suppliers in North America. We then distribute it to all New Zealanders through our network of some 250 retail outlets.

Elite represents and distributes the widest catalogue of musical genres from the best labels and artists in their respective fields from all over the world.

Elite is constantly looking for new material of the best quality at the most reasonable value for discerning music focused New Zealanders, in the shortest possible delivery time. We also pride ourselves on being able to track down those elusive albums through our worldwide contacts which have been built-up over many years. Attendance at Midem International in France each year is a major component of our music selection in order to offer the latest in world music to New Zealand. Elite also represents an expanding selective portfolio of New Zealand artists.
