EcoQuest Education Foundation

The EcoQuest Education Foundation, Te Rarangahau Taiao, operates a field centre for advanced field studies in ecology, resource management and environmental policy. EcoQuest occupies a unique place in the landscape of international education. We offer exciting programs for undergraduate students in partnership with the University of New Hampshire. We combine rigorous academic pursuit with hands-on learning from the mountains to the sea in a genuine New Zealand education experience. EcoQuest is dedicated to service learning through applied research and our engagement with local communities in both the North- and South Island. Our students and staff are involved with some of New Zealand’s most high-profile restoration projects. Our academic program involves collaboration with local iwi (tribes) Ngāti Paoa and Ngāti Whanaunga, government departments, non-government organizations, crown research institutes, local authorities, and community groups. When our students leave New Zealand, they have also left something of themselves behind through their involvement and contributions to initiatives that advance sustainable management of natural resources and habitats here in Aotearoa.
