The Centre for Missing Persons in New Zealand (CMPNZ) was established to provide people who have lost loved ones in New Zealand, a resource to use in supporting their ongoing search and recovery efforts.
Did you know around 12,000 people are reported missing to the NZ police annually and about 4,000 of them are under 18yrs old! Whilst most are found within 48hrs, about 1% (120 people) remain missing CMPNZ Logo each year.
Our website is integral to enabling people to continue and broaden their searches for clues and resolution. Registered users can profile their own missing persons cases and add as much information as is needed, including videos, pictures, text and audio.
CMPNZ is NZ's first missing persons agency and maintains NZ's first website that profiles missing persons. Until recently NZ was one of the only western countries in the world to NOT have a missing persons agency. With the establishment of CMPNZ we aim to support kiwi families of those people whom have vanished, continue their search for answers. Our website acts as a resource for these families to pool public information and build community around and support around their ongoing efforts.
