Boom Skateboards
BOOM was started in 1992 by NZ industry veteran Frank Edwards, with the help of vert skating legend Andrew Morrison and renowned photographer Andrew Mapstone.
Even though times were hard, they persevered and assembled the hottest skate team in New Zealand. Business grew, and soon they were exporting to Australia.
By 1997 they were the market leaders for Australasia, because the brand had a reputation for quality and affordability as well as supporting New Zealand and Australian Skateboarding from the grass roots.
Today, BOOM is one of Australasia's leading skateboard & clothing companies. Currently stocked in 47 New Zealand and 34 Australian stores, as well as their own flagship store (The SK8 Factory) at 166 Karangahape Road, Auckland, BOOM is well respected for providing quality skateboard hardware and clothing to Kiwi and Aussie skaters alike. BOOM has stuck through the highs and lows of the skateboard industry to support local skateboarding for 15 years!
BOOM and The SK8 Factory are run by a small team of dedicated professionals who are committed to ensuring the brand remains the first choice for NZ and Aussis Skaters.
