Aotearoa Breweries NZ is all about a celebration of all things New Zealand and this is why we chose our distinctive brand MATA. MATA Means Edge, Freshness, Rawness. The concept of our brand and our bottles is focused on the meaning of MATA.
New Zealand is on the edge of the world, defined by coastal edges, glacial edges and a mighty tectonic edge (fault line) running through the middle of the country.
The MATA logo has a mountainous flow representing New Zealand's terrain and its shakey outline New Zealands many fault-lines.
If you look at the label, at the front of the bottle above the MATA logo is an abstract drawing of the north island, spin the bottle around to the right and there is an abstract of the south island.
The gap between the label represents the tectonic edge (fault line), which runs through the middle of the country.
All our our premium beers are also edged with a unique NZ ingredient, Certified Organic Artesian Water, Manuka Honey and Feijoa.
Finally our team are all focused on being eco-friendly and sustainable. We have an award from the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) for being the most sustainable emerging business in the Bay of Plenty.
