There are many elements that combine to make a great cup of coffee. Regardless of the equipment being used, whether it be a commercial coffee machine in a cafe or a plunger at home, there are some Golden Rules to getting it just right:
* Clean - good hygiene is essential
* Fresh - the fresher the beans, the better
* Hot - everything must be at the right temperature
* Bean Storage - Never put your beans in the freezer! Store beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place.
* Setting the grind - the rule of thumb for the correct grind is white sand-fine but with a slight granular feel
* Consistency - the only way to achieve consistent results in your coffee-making is to use a thermometer in frothing your milk (milk should be frothed at 150 degrees Fahrenheit)
