A&E Aplliance and Electroncis

A&E Appliances and Electronics was established in October 2005 as an online store supplying compatible ink cartridges to New Zealanders. In March 2006 we opened our first store in the main street of Gisborne city.

Over the next 18 months we grew our range to include computer accessories, MP3 players, Cameras & Cell phone accessories. In that time we outgrew the retail premises we were operating from and required a larger store. So in October 2007 we opened a few blocks down in one of the busiest parts of town in a shop more than four times the size. We extended our range into whiteware and started supplying Indesit and Trieste appliances from Eurotech design (Fridges, dishwashers, range hoods, cooktops & Ovens). These are designed in Italy and manufactured in Europe. We also focused on Haier bar fridges and freezers. Haier is the fourth largest whiteware company in the world.

In the first 12 months of operating from our new premises, we were out of space again. Fortunately, the retail floor only took up about 50% of the total floor space of our shop so we took to the wall with a sledge hammer; low and behold we now have an even bigger retail outlet in the busiest part of Gisborne.

Our online side is still run from a small office in the back of our retail store. We also have a large offsite warehouse to store sufficient stock to supply both our retail store and online customers.

In late 2008, we joined with Beta Electrical in order to be able to offer customers Appliances at more competitive prices. We also joined Jaycar to increase our range of Electronics. With these two alliances along-side the products we import directly from off-shore, A&E can offer a great range of products at affordable prices.

Our range includes product brands such as Westinghouse, Simpson, Electrolux, Indesit, Trieste, Haier, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Smegg, Baumatic, Panasonic, Teac, Uniden, Creative, DJ Tech, Canon, Brother, Epson, Lexmark, DJ Matthews, Genius, Logitech, Adata, Imation, Venomm, Kambrook, Sunbeam, Breville, Olympus & Sharp.

The latest addition to our expanding business is a wholesale arm offering compatible ink cartridges and toners cartridges, cell phone chargers, and a small range of remote control toys.
