Welcome to the Made From New Zealand project. On Waitangi Day 2007 we’re launching a new platform for connecting and promoting New Zealand businesses and people.

Made From New Zealand is all about the ‘Kiwi DNA’, the unique stuff that’s inside New Zealanders all over the world that connects us all. This website will become a place for people and businesses with the Kiwi DNA to join together, make new friends, build relationships, have some fun and show off a little.

The launch is happening on Santa Monica Beach, Los Angeles, where we will be making our mark on the world by building a giant sand sculpture of the Silver Fern.

The launch event is being broadcast live on Maori Television as part of their Waitangi Day coverage, and there’ll be lots of other media coverage both here in New Zealand and around the world.

We’re funding this project through the sale of Made From New Zealand teeshirts designed by Dan Buckley at Huffer and Michelle Dowd at Kerosene. There are 10,517 teeshirts for sale, (that number being the distance between NZ and LA) and each contains a ‘magic thread’ we have had spun from one of Sir Edmund Hillary’s climbing socks.
