Summer of Code

Summer of Code

Summer of Code 09 (SoC) is a non-profit programme that creates job opportunities for students in
innovative companies over the summer holidays. We help to accelerate the students learning and
experience by providing seminars and workshops from a range of the top IT in New Zealand.

Vision for Summer of Code

We have a strong vision for the future of Summer of Code. Here are our long term goals:

• Become _the_ training programme for IT students in New Zealand.
• Create stronger links between universities and industry.
• Encourage ICT as a career to students.
• Build a smarter graduate pool for the future.
• Promote Wellington and New Zealand as a technology destination for students.

Objectives of Summer of Code

Every year the Summer of Code programme aims to:

• Showcase innovative businesses as career options.
• Help innovative companies find talented students.
• Accelerate students’ learning and experience through the internship and seminars.
• Help boost Research & Development projects within companies.
