Kordia

Kordia is a State Owned Enterprise (SOE) – owned by the New Zealand government, but operating as a commercially viable entity. It operates and maintains a national communications network in New Zealand; providing design, build, deployment and maintenance of broadcast, mobile and IP-based telecommunications networks across Australasia and throughout the region.

Broadcast Solutions

Primarily on digital microwave technology, Kordia’s impressive network of transmission infrastructure across New Zealand and Australia delivers television and radio programming into homes across both countries.

Telecommunications Solutions

Kordia’s profile in the telecommunications market is growing: In September 2006, Kordia was voted by the National Business Review as the "4th Most Exciting Company" in the New Zealand telecommunications market.
Kordia recently acquired Orcon – New Zealand’s fourth largest internet service provider and fastest-growing telecommunications company.

Specialised Networks

In New Zealand, Kordia operates a national IP-based telecommunications network which delivers converged services through its retail arm: Orcon. Kordia works with its content and services providers to deliver content through both broadcast and broadband networks.

Today, Kordia employs around 700 people in over 20 locations across Australia and New Zealand.
